11:15 pm: Just had my last ever concert with the University Wind Orchestra. Concert itself was fantastic and Kieran did a big shout out for all the leavers, which was great but probably contributed to the slump and tears now...

Bigger than usual slump following a concert, but this isn't helped by the fact that my department, in their infinite wisdom, have changed the rules on getting results AGAIN. We won't be getting them on Thursday morning. We might not be getting them Thursday afternoon. We might not even get them on Friday. They don't really know when we'll get them. And our transcripts... Well our transcripts are going to be mailed home sometime in the near future, maybe next week.

So not only do I have a COMPLETELY POINTLESS pars meeting on Thursday to discuss my transcripts which they won't let me have, but we all have to psychologically prepare ourselves for the possibility of not getting our results until next week while they keep promising them in the next few days. It's completely unfair that they won't even give us a decent answer about when we can find out if we even HAVE degrees, plus the whole rubbish about 'if you would be best off taking the exam we will contact you as soon as possible' is null and void if people have left the country, as happens on MONDAY.

Great work. Fantastic end to five years of slogging. Thanks so much.

04:48 pm: Talks again
More talks going on in London today, apparently. The demonstration on campus yesterday got us an audience with the University Registrar, who apparently is going to keep us more informed for developments from this point. I'm not holding my breath...

Not really understanding why they seem to be moving so slowly. I'm sure they're batting lots of ideas about, but why let them go so far forwards before vetoing them?! They know we're stuck in the middle waiting for results and classifications, and just praying that we're going to have them in time to actually be able to graduate with some level of respect.

But on the positives... Less than two weeks til we fly out to Boston! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!! Plus fencing social and grad ball in the next two days - woohoo lots of getting dressed up!

09:43 pm: Still waiting to hear whether my exam's going to be rescheduled. Pretty fed up about it to be honest - they said we'd hear yesterday but didn't. I'm really hoping they don't, as it would make the last few weeks of term really horrible if I had to revise all through them. Just can't believe they're using us like pawns for this. Really unimpressed by the whole thing, plus angry at the people who keep saying 'we want it resolved quickly so that no undue harm comes to students'. What the hell do they think is happening to us now?!?! Final year, exams hanging in the balance, and to top it off they might not even let us have a classification for graduation ceremonies.

Rant over... sorry for stressing anyone out! Just needed to vent.

In other news...

(Didn't think these things could be accurate... suppose it's not that hard really tho!)

Hope all is good with people - I'm at home in Bedford at the mo, prob coming back on Thursday, but it all depends on whether they reschedule the sodding exam...

Big Hugs to everyone! Katie, our list of awards is AMAZING!!! Will attempt to think up some more... may be sending random texts with strange awards in them this week methinks! Let me know if you come up with any more!

03:37 pm: Really getting worried about this marking strike now. At first I thought they'd just sort it all out, but now it's not looking nearly so hopeful. While I support why the lecturers are doing it, I can't feel happy that what they're doing could potentially harm my degree classification and result in my dissertation not getting marked. They're talking about some universities using past averages to calculate the final mark. While that's all well and good, and I'd get a 2:1 that way, I worked for over a year putting my dissertation together and if they're not going to bother to mark it, what was the point?

Just really fed up that I handed in my last essays today and they're still pulling this, plus the fact that groupwise is down and I can't check with the exam representative for my department about what might be done.

11:08 am: Ok panicing now... Dissertation due in tomorrow but it's (touch wood) all done so planning on handing it in today. However, I have another essay also due tomorrow and I just need to grammar check it with Mum but she's gone walkabout so I can't get hold of her, and if I don't go soon the office will be shut and I don't really want to have to go to the school office twice in two days. think it's probably just panic about the fact that I have COMPLETED my dissertation, and it's a very scary thought - I've really enjoyed writing it but it's just really scary that it's all done now and I'm that much closer to graduating (hoping my sister and brother in law can come to that, so we can have a really nice day celebrating the fact that I've finally made it - roll on July 14th!!).

Actually going to miss the dissertation quite a lot - have enjoyed writing it, although it'll be nice to be able to leave the house again without feeling guilty...

Wondering why my computer is spontaneously making this window bigger and bigger.... very odd.

Calming breaths...

You're a classic - powerful, athletic, and competitive. You're all about winning the race and getting the job done. While you have a practical everyday side, you get wild when anyone pushes your pedal. You hate to lose, but you hardly ever do.

02:49 pm: Hmm dissertation literally becoming one big headache... Well, it's giving me one big headache anyway! Have completed first drafts of the introduction and Theme Parks chapter, plus a draft of the RYLA chapter (tho need to adapt first half of it before it's ok to get checked...). Need to do second half of the Theory chapter plus the conclusion... then I get the joy of the abstract, appendixes and title pages, plust actually putting the whole thing together! Wooo...

Ah well, at least it's moving forwards. Went to the Ballet on Thursday which was LOVELY!

Best get back to adapting first bit...
